Pose Library

The Pose Library is here to give you an easy way to practice specific poses. Here is where you can come to find modifications to poses and specific alignment cues. It is organized into four sections; poses in the original Classic Series, the Second Series, the Third Series and an Other category which are not bone strength poses but can be helpful.


 
 

Classic Series

The poses listed here are the ones that have been studied for their effects on bone strength. The primary focus is improving bone quality in the hips, femur and spine. When done in entirety, this set of 12 poses is a complete yoga practice

 

Second Series

The poses in this group have not been clinically studied, however Dr. Fishman used the same principles as he did when selecting the classic series. This group of poses continues to emphasis the hips, femur and spine but also brings attention to the wrist.

 

Third Series

The poses in this group have not been clinically studied, however Dr. Fishman used the same principles as he did when selecting the classic series. This group of poses continues to emphasis the hips, femur and spine but some of the poses also bring attention to the ribs. These videos are a beginner level only- progress in the poses if you can.

 

Other Poses

This group of poses is not in the Fishman method. You will find poses that can be helpful for building strength, balance and mobility.
